The nation has been in the grip of a national crisis involving opioid addiction. One of the major manufacturers of opioids was Purdue Pharma—the makers of Oxycotin.

Thanks to the efforts by Dr. Jason Beaman and team Oklahoma State University (OSU) secured a windfall from a settlement with opioid maker Purdue Pharma earlier this year. OSUs quest to
become a major hub for addiction research just got more serious as the company also handed over thousands of proprietary molecules, patient samples and other data.
