Dr. Bella Madan discusses Hemophilia with TrialSite News. Dr. Madan has been focusing on new, gene-therapy based treatments for hemophilia. She joined Guy’s and St. Thomas’ hospital in the UK as a consultant hematologist in 2002. With extensive expertise in the management of inherited and acquired bleeding and thrombotic disorders such as hemophilia, she has been serving as a principal investigator on a number of important clinical trials involving gene therapy and other novel treatments. She has been an influential force including co-authoring of joint RCOG/UKHCDO guidelines on obstetric management of women inherited bleeding disorders and has a special interest in hemophilia. She leads a Phase I /2 gene therapy trial as well focusing on hemophilia.
